I credit my background as a songwriter as one of my major attributes as an instrumentalist: everything I do is to serve the song.Ī: Delicate, expressive, emotive, colorful, understated, vocal. I attended the world-renowned USC Popular Music Program as a songwriting and guitar emphasis. It was around this time that I also fell in love with country and indie folk-influenced artists, such as Wilco, Pavement, Jackson Browne, Neil Young. Attended an arts high school where I was introduced to R&B, jazz and funk. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?Ī: Started playing electric guitar at around 8 years old. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?Ī: Fender telecaster, fender Princeton reverb amp. I was the part writer and arranger for all the instruments I recorded. I'm super proud of the way it came out and love how the acoustics and slides work within a pop song. What was your role?Ī: I just finished recording a bunch of acoustics and slide guitars for an upcoming Remi Wolf release.
